What this cannot show you. The mesh is one continuous surface with a single material, so the whole dog takes one colour. In a real French Bulldog the identifying detail is where pigment differs — a blue has a grey nose, a cream keeps a black one, a fawn carries a dark mask. None of that can be represented here. The 2D genetics tool shows all of it, which is why that one is the reference and this one is the toy.

How it was made

The mesh was generated from one of our own photographs and carries no texture — just geometry, about 19,700 vertices. We added a single material so the colour could be changed at all. It is honest to say the proportions are approximate: it inherits whatever the source photograph showed, including a shorter muzzle than we would choose to illustrate.

Common questions

Why can I only change the whole coat, not the nose?

Because the mesh is a single untextured surface — it has one material, so it takes one colour. Nose leather, eye rims and mask are the features that actually identify a colour genetically, and they need to be coloured independently. That is what the 2D colour genetics tool does, and why it is the more useful of the two.

Is this what a real French Bulldog looks like?

Roughly. It was generated from a photograph, so proportions are close but detail is approximate, and it inherits the fairly short muzzle of the source image. Treat it as a shape to turn around rather than a reference for conformation.

Does this work on a phone?

Yes, and it supports viewing in augmented reality on most recent phones. It is a large download though, which is why nothing loads until you press the button.
